Service EDF deadline: 30 days after month-end

The practical answer

For service exports the regulation provides filing within thirty days from the end of the month in which the invoice is raised.

What to do

Use the invoice month, calculate its final calendar day, and add thirty calendar days. This is separate from your client’s payment terms and the realisation period. The regulation permits an AD extension for reasons considered appropriate; contact your bank early if the filing date has passed. Save the acknowledgement and any written extension.

A worked example

For an invoice dated 8 October 2026, month-end is 31 October and the thirty-day date is 30 November 2026.

Avoid this mistake

Adding thirty days to the invoice date produces a different result and is not this monthly rule.

Keep a clear record

Retain the underlying invoice or accepted statement, supporting correspondence and any acknowledgement from the designated authority or authorised-dealer bank. The tools here prepare information; only the appropriate authority can confirm acceptance, extension or closure.
