Missed an EDF date? How to prepare a bank enquiry

The practical answer

Contact the designated authority or AD with the actual dates and reason for delay. The regulation allows AD extension of service filing for reasons it considers appropriate.

What to do

Prepare invoice dates, the calculated unextended filing date, receipt dates, any earlier communications and the reason for delay. Ask for the accepted corrective process and a written response. Do not backdate the invoice or the declaration. Keep the original chronology and any extension approval.

A worked example

A delayed October invoice declaration should retain the October invoice date even when the enquiry is sent in December.

Avoid this mistake

A tool cannot grant an extension or decide that a past date is waived.

Keep a clear record

Retain the underlying invoice or accepted statement, supporting correspondence and any acknowledgement from the designated authority or authorised-dealer bank. The tools here prepare information; only the appropriate authority can confirm acceptance, extension or closure.

Is this an official instruction from my bank?

No. This is independent educational guidance. Use the linked primary sources and ask your bank for its current process and written confirmation.

Can the website file my EDF?

No. Your inputs stay in your browser. Downloads are preparation documents and must be reviewed before use through an official channel.
