Upwork and Fiverr payouts: invoice and fee mapping
Marketplace payouts often aggregate jobs and deduct fees. Your export records should make those differences traceable.
What to do
List the underlying invoices or earnings statements. Keep the contract and customer information actually available from the platform. Record gross earnings, platform deductions, refunds and net receipt separately. Ask the AD how it treats the marketplace’s role and what evidence it accepts for recipient details.
A USD 1,000 gross invoice with a USD 100 fee and USD 900 settlement needs an explanation of the deduction, not a silently reduced invoice.
Avoid this mistake
Do not list the marketplace as the customer merely because it sends the payout; confirm the contracting arrangement.
Keep a clear record
Retain the underlying invoice or accepted statement, supporting correspondence and any acknowledgement from the designated authority or authorised-dealer bank. The tools here prepare information; only the appropriate authority can confirm acceptance, extension or closure.
