Wise payments and EDF in India: practical checklist

The practical answer

A Wise transfer’s inward-remittance evidence and the exporter’s declaration duties are separate. The transfer route and account type affect what evidence Wise can provide.

What to do

Open the transfer details and identify the processing bank, invoice reference and evidence type. Wise’s help describes business e-FIRC availability and NOC routes for some INR transfers. Request the relevant document through Wise’s official help. Ask your AD how to link that evidence to the export invoice.

A worked example

If a receipt mentions a partner bank, that information can help your own bank trace the funds; it does not by itself identify your EDF filing authority.

Avoid this mistake

Do not assume every Wise transfer automatically files an EDF.

Keep a clear record

Retain the underlying invoice or accepted statement, supporting correspondence and any acknowledgement from the designated authority or authorised-dealer bank. The tools here prepare information; only the appropriate authority can confirm acceptance, extension or closure.

Is this an official instruction from my bank?

No. This is independent educational guidance. Use the linked primary sources and ask your bank for its current process and written confirmation.

Can the website file my EDF?

No. Your inputs stay in your browser. Downloads are preparation documents and must be reviewed before use through an official channel.
